Superior service at a budget friendly cost. Dr. Takacs and his associates are compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough. This office offers a vet for exotic animals as well and it will not require you to take a loan out to pay for excellent care. I will not take my dogs anywhere else as I do not trust anyone else. I highly recommend this business.
They are amazing! I finally found a vet that knows what the are doing and the staff is very friendly! My dog was so good when we went there he would go crazy at our last vet!
Dr. Takacs is a good veternaian, I will not dispute that. However, the problems with this animal hospital make it not worth going there anymore. My experience was the following: I have a smaller size dog (around 15 lbs) who was due for his distemper shot, as well as a rabies shot. The vet on staff (not Takacs) suggested a flu shot too. Being that I am not a veternaian, I thought this was in the best interest of my dog. Well, come to find out, a dog that small should NOT have all three shots at one time. My dog was deathly sick and could barely move for two days. I spoke with other local vets, as well as another well known vet in Pittsburgh who claimed that may be okay for a larger dog, but not a smaller dog. At this point, I was very upset. I didn't want to see my little guy suffer. I made the staff at the front desk aware of the issue and they acted like they didn't care at all. Not even an apology. It is my opinion that this vet has become more concerned with making quick dollars than our pets. Not to mention, long wait in the waiting room, nearly impossible to get on the phone without a long wait. They've become so busy that the level of care for the pets isn't the same as it once was. It's quite sad. I'll be taking my pets to another vet in the area from now on.
Yes, they are cheap. Yes, some of the staff is nice. However, you sit on hold for an incredibly long time! My last call to them I sat on hold for nearly an hour!!! And then you get a person on the phone who has zero personality which just makes the experience that much worse. They need to have a better system in place. It really isn't that hard. They should have someone available to take calls and set appointments. Every other day the phone system has changed yet again and regardless of the change you can't ever get anyone on the phone in a decent amount of time. My time is valuable too. Such a shame that they don't seem to care about this issue. They've known about this for a very long time. I'm sure they have the means to change this in order to better serve their customers but for whatever reason choose not to.
